With your partner, share ONE VOX BLOG to capture a discussion about an issue of global or regional significance.
(see *on the partner list or whose blog will host this discussion)
The partner list is was sent to you through an email/attachment from Chris on Monday at 4:07 pm!!!
TOPICS: For example, but not limited to: safety, education, sustainability, voting, global warming, free trade, smoking, etc.
At the end of your discussion, conducted or captured through your ONE VOX blog (see * on the partner list for whose blog will host this discussion).
One person will start the conversation, your partner will contribute through the Comment field. And so on.
You will arrive at a consensus or singular position statement about a single issue.
The blog postings must include the following:
1. Identify you and your partner (yes you can re-do your HS/SS disclosures)
2. Provide background information about the issue
3. A clear statement of your position (thesis)
4. Links to research and references
Think of this as an online discussion that evolves into an essay.
Put your best foot forward, (spelling, college level writing, etc).
DUE: Friday, April 11 at 5 p.m.
This short movie will show you how to change the name of your blog, add a tag line, customize the layout and personalize the colors and top banner.
(EDITED POST!!!>>>: When you create your blog, please use your name or first name last initial so it's easier to figure out whose it is. And if you can keep your postings focused on ART279...that would be awesome ;-)
Besides starting your own Vox Blog (and/or customizing your banner by clicking on Change Your Design> Personalized then uploading a 940 pixels wide x 200 pixels high image), please:
1. Contribute to or start a VoiceThread
(Remember, it's best to have one person per group start the thread, then invite the other members of your old IM180 group to the VT (please also invite us teachers). If you only see your own VT, it's because you haven't invited the others to it, or have to allow others to comment and participate. Check your settings.
Create an identify(s) or avatar for yourself In this VT (again, use your name so it's not so hard for us to know who you are.
Discuss your Hard Skills and Soft Skills.
Try out the text comments, record an audio or video message, and even the doodling.
By the way, Hard Skills are usually classified as the technical skills you have to get a job done (software, use equipment, drive a truck, operate machinery, keyboarding, editing, drawing, etc.)
Soft Skills are interpersonal skills and personality traits (negotiating, detail-oriented, positive attitude, follow through).
Here's our VT that we showed in class today. Stay tuned for more from JD and David:
